My very first song on iTunes!

Yep, this is my very first song on iTunes! :D I'm really happy and excited about it! You guys don't have to buy it (you can download it for free above), it's just me trying to fulfil a tiny dream of mine. That said, if you really like it though, I wouldn't mind if you buy it. ;) Here's the link.

iTunes Link

It costs USD0.99 and for every song sold, I get USD0.69. Yep. The other parts go to Apple and CDBaby.

Oh and it cost me USD15 to get everything up and running. #justsaying ;)

Zhong Ru
Zhong Ru
制作/Zhong Ru
Hey, it's me
I know it's my fault
And I know that I've hurt you
But I won't ask for another chance
I just wanna say that I'm really sorry

A new production of an old song written back in 2009. This was inspired by a friend's story.

Zhong Ru

For anyone who's loved ones have gone too soon.

Moved On

Moved On
words/music/producer/Zhong Ru
I can't even begin to say how much I miss you
Every little thing that she does reminds me of you
How am I supposed to find another when I've already found you?
A simple word a smiley face a tweet or just your presence
Ignites a fire in my heart I need to let you know
I guess that we've never really started on the right note
But now I'm sitting here with all these thoughts in me
And oh
Didn't really wanna let you go
I couldn't face myself for days you know
But amidst all that
You have moved on, moved on
Didn't really wanna let you down
Your tears they make no sound
Yet the pain I feel
You have moved on, moved on

想念

Ever miss someone so much you just wanna run away?

Lyrics/Music/Arrangement: Zhong Ru

Comeback

I've decided to reopen this blog! Haha! Yeah, despite having no readers, oh well. I'll just write for my own pleasure! :D

Do check out the mix tape tab above! It's a collection of my works in 2011, some (or all, LOL) are pretty rough, as they are just demos or works-in-progress! Yupp!

Meanwhile, I'll still be posting my works here, whenever I get the time to write something!

Sneak Peek Of A New Original

+It's not complete yet, as you can tell, coz there's no chorus! LOL. I'm gonna re-record the vocals as well, but just a sneak preview! ;)

Tuesday, February 8, 2011

You are the best thing that's ever been mine.

+I'm going to see Taylor Swift tomorrow! After waiting for years! YAY I can hardly wait. She really has been such an inspiration to me. Not to mention being super cute, pretty and adorable. ;)

Love The Way You Lie (Part 2)

+I love this version of the song! Sorry about the soft vocals at the front part, I should really invest in a USB mic. ;)

Love The Way You Lie (Part II)

On the first page of our story
The future seemed so bright
Then this thing turned out so evil
I don't know why I'm still surprised

Even angels have their wicked schemes
And you take that to new extremes
But you'll always be my hero
Even though you've lost your mind

[Chorus]
Just gonna stand there and watch me burn
But that's all right because I like the way it hurts
Just gonna stand there and hear me cry
But that's all right because I love the way you lie
I love the way you lie
Ohhh, I love the way you lie

Now there's gravel in our voices
Glass is shattered from the fight
In this tug of war, you'll always win
Even when I'm right

'Cause you feed me fables from your hand
With violent words and empty threats
And it's sick that all these battles
Are what keeps me satisfied

[Chorus]

So maybe I'm a masochist
I try to run but I don't wanna ever leave
Til the walls are goin' up
In smoke with all our memories

[Chorus]

+Thanks for watching! :D Do subscribe and follow me on twitter!

Britney Spears singing Lady GaGa's Telephone!

+I love Britney and Gaga, and this demo was leaked yesterday! Apparently Gaga wrote this song for Britney, but she rejected it somehow. Oh man wouldn't it be great if Britney actually did use this song in her album? Listen to it here at PerezHilton.com!

+Anyway, I made an album art for those who wish to download it to itunes! :D Britney Spears "Telephone" album art, using the latest Candies photo!

Kelly Clarkson "All I Ever Wanted" Tour 2010 :D

+Spiky Handcuffs. Check. Powerful Whistle. Check. Blue Lightsticks. Check. Black eyeliner (Char, not me!). Check. Budget $60 tickets. Check. Anddddddd we're ready for Kelly Clarkson! :D

GETTING THERE.

+I have to say, getting to the Singapore Indoor Stadium was a breeze! No more walking kilometres from Kallang MRT station! With the new Circle Line, the SIS is just 100m away from Stadium station! It's like a station that should have been there a long time ago, seriously. Plus, Stadium station is such a beautiful building!

THE SURPRISE(S).

+When we reached there, the first thing we noticed was the huge amounts of ang-mohs. And there are kids too! Little kids shouldn't go for concerts! They should stay at home and watch Dora! ;)

+Entering the arena itself, we saw that all the seats had these green plastic blowups, which became 1-metre long balloony things, and you could clap with them. Everyone had 2 of those. I thought that the fan club had done a terrific job! Until I saw "Starhub" printed on the side of it. =.= It's sponsored.

+Next, we realized the most perplexing thing. Our Sua Teng seats were gone. (Apparently the ticket sales weren't that fantastic.) We asked an usher where our seats were. Here's how it went down.

Me+Char: "Erm, where are our seats?"
Usher: (looks at our tickets) "Ohhhh there's been a relocation. Now you guys are just down here."
Me+Char: (YAY! Seats upgraded!) "So where do we sit?"
Usher: (points to 2 of the back row seats) "There lor."
Me+Char: (?!) "Kthanksbye."

+We just turned and left, leaving the usher bewildered. Hahaha! It's practically Free-Seating now and you're telling us to sit at the back row? HELL NO! We moved as front as the block of seats allowed and sat down! YAY! $60 tickets, $100 seats! :D Okay, we changed place again coz we got chased away by the REAL seat owners, but we got another 2 seats at around the same place. All set, and at 8.10pm, the lights dimmed and the concert started! (So on time!)

THE AMERICAN IDOL.

+"OMG She's fat!" I'm sorry, but that was the first thing that I shouted to Char over the screaming audience, who, by now were all on their feet.
"Yes she is! Didn't you know?"Char said.
"Yeah, but not this fat!"

+After that initial shock (LOL!), it was just rocking the house down from there! The setlist is in the previous post, if you are interested. She makes singing look so effortless! All those high notes! Goshhhh this is what it takes to be an American Idol!

+I also love the flashing lights, which made the whole atmosphere rather disco-ish, however, it worked with the rock genre. Strange huh? I liked her mic-stand too! It was like a long light-sabre and it kept changing colours! Cool!

+And when she sang her acoustic medley, it was just so magical and beautiful. The audience was tamed and so quiet. Here I am, once again~~~ :'(

+Because Of You brought the concert to another high. It was apparently everyone's favourite ballad, coz everyone was singing along. So touching. I wish I could relive that moment again and again. Kelly Clarkson, standing in front of you, singing Because Of You. Oh my... This song meant a lot to me coz when I was still in J2, I would listen to it on those 198 bus rides home, usually when I'm emo...

+Fake ending with Since U Been Gone! This song got everyone on their feet up, jumping and screaming the lyrics! WOOHOO! Might be the highest song of the night if not for...

+My Life Would Suck Without You! The last encore song for the concert! Kelly Clarkson rocking in her black blazer! And her mic-stand is now red! Let's just say that I was drenched in perspiration after that! :D

THE VERDICT

+It was a rocking concert! Kelly definitely connected with her audience and with the excellent setlist and covers, it sure is a pity the concert wasn't a sell-out one! By the way, the anal SIS staff have managed to annoy me again by telling me in the middle of one song that "Lightsticks and whistles are not allowed in this concert", and that I'll have to "keep it in my bag". NO WAY! WTH?! I scowled at her for a moment before I continued waving my lightstick. :D

The American Idol :D

+Hell yeah! I'm going to watch Kelly Clarkson this Tuesday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium!

+It's her "All I Ever Wanted" World Tour 2010! And yes, I'm being super cheapskate and just getting the $60 ticket! It's confirmed I'll be sitting at the Sua Teng (山顶)! Hahaha!

+Oh well, this whole thing is rather impromptu anyway. Charlene asked if I wanted to watch Kelly Clarkson's concert. I thought about it for a while. For really a few seconds only. Then I said yes

+Reasons being:
1. She is THE American Idol. So her live singing is going to be super wicked.
2. I really really seriously like "Because Of You" - you can't imagine the intensity. :D
3. I sang "A Moment Like This" during my council election.
4. People keep saying she's fat and I want to see for myself. But I'll probably need binoculars though.
5. I've never watched an ang-moh concert before! Hahaha! I heard they always start late, last about an hour only, and they have opening acts! Looking forward to it! ;)

+And, I only know like 5 of her songs, so Charlene sent me the setlist! LOL!
  1. All I Ever Wanted
  2. Miss Independent
  3. I Do Not Hook Up
  4. Impossible
  5. That I Would Be Good (Alanis Morissette cover)/Use Somebody (Kings of Leon cover)
  6. Breakaway
  7. If I Can't Have You/Can't Get You Out of My Head (Kylie Minogue cover)
  8. Never Again
  9. Lies (The Black Keys cover)
  10. Tonight I Wanna Cry (Keith Urban Cover)
  11. Acoustic Medley

    1. Just Missed The Train
    2. Low
    3. Addicted
    4. Gone
  12. Behind These Hazel Eyes (Acoustic)
  13. Cry
  14. I Want You
  15. Don't Let Me Stop You
  16. Because of You
  17. Walk Away
  18. Since U Been Gone
Encore:
  1. Already Gone
  2. Seven Nation Army (The White Stripes cover)
  3. My Life Would Suck Without You
+Alright! Time to go brush up and listen to Kelly Clarkson's songs! Can't wait for Tuesday! I'll update about the concert here too! :D

Seeing Double This November!

+New albums galore! But it seems like we are seeing double this month, here I have 3 pair of albums, that share some similarities with each other! But of course there are differences also! Let's take a look!

#1 Adam Lambert - For Your Entertainment VS Kris Allen - Self-titled Album

+Okay other than both being from the Idol Alumni, there aren't any other similarities between these two albums at all!

+Adam's album first. Isn't he supposed to be a glam rocker? (See album cover above, LOL.) Then how come this album sounds more pop than rock? Here's what I think of the album. The first half of the album is pop, and the second half is more rock. Haha! But it's true! And the cover art is erm...should I say...erm attention grabbing? Not in a good way. LOL. That said, Adam delivers each and every song flawlessly, hitting all the unbelievably high notes effortlessly. The best track in the album has to be the theme of the movie 2012 (which received mixed reviews, the movie, I mean), Time for Miracles.

+Kris' next! This self-titled album is so smooth, I have no idea how to classify it! It's not rock, but it's not pop either. So what it's called? Anyone knows? LOL! Anyway, his voice is truly clean and smooth and if you have grown sick of Heartless, try No Boundaries, or if you have grown sick of that too, try Live Like We're Dying!

#2 Lady Gaga - The Fame Monster VS Rihanna - Rated R

+What's so similar between these two albums, you ask? The album art DUH. I think they hired the SAME creative director and graphic designer, and they ran out of ideas for new album art designs. Look at the covers! Both are in grayscale, emo, dark and guess what - same kind of make-up. So now they have got the same make-up artist as well? LOL!

+That said, the musical style is very different in both albums. Lady Gaga is more pop and dance, and Rihanna has graduated from the dance beats of Umbrella and Don't Stop the Music to R&B and more soulful songs like Russian Roulette and Photographs (feat. will.I.am), very much like Take A Bow. I love Russian Roulette! It's the kind of song that grows on you the more you listen to it!

+Lady Gaga, meanwhile, has stuck to her pop and dance hits formula which has proved to work, propelling her to super-stardom. The hit single Bad Romance gets stuck in your head after one listen, in a good way of course! And she proves she has the singing chops in Speechless, a ballad. Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster also has a deluxe edition, where in the package, among other things, contains a lock of her own hair. How crazy is that!

Here's a video showing just how crazy she is! A very recent performance at the American Music Awards 09, singing Bad Romance and Speechless, where she sets her piano on fire. Literally.

+Alright there are so many similarities between these 2 albums I don't know where to begin! LOL! First of all, both singers are male, newbies in the industry, and this album is a collection of covers of songs they like. And they did covers of ALL female songs. Yes, both of them. Coincidence? Hmm. Oh yes, they both chose 1 张惠妹 and 孙燕姿 song to cover in their album. Not the same songs, of course, that would be really freaky. Haha.

+Okay song choice wise, I would prefer Jam's album. But in terms of bringing a new life to the song, I think neither of them has done really well. Erm, the albums get boring after a while? Because the music arrangement from song to song sounds the same! Especially A-Bin's album.

+I like both their voices! Both put a lot of emotion into singing and you can hear it. Best song in Jam's Album would be 我怀念的, 新不了情 is just disappointing, he lost the 爆发力 of the competitions in the studios, and best song in A-Bin's album would be 天黑黑. No, I'm not being biased towards Yanzi, just because I'm a fan, but it's true! Go and listen and you'll know! Haha!

BEST WEEKEND FINDS!

The Taylor Swift's Holiday Collection
+I can't get enough of Taylor Swift! This album released in 2006/7 just made me very happy! =))) Featuring White Christmas and Silent Night! Erm country style? Haha!

Spongebob's Greatest Hits
+Who can resist Spongebob and his nonsensical songs?! Haha! In this Greatest Hits collection, favourites like The Goofy Goober Song, The Campfire Song Song and F.U.N Song are included!

AND UNTIL NEXT TIME -

+The Dancing Diva article is proving harder than it is to write! But I'll do it up! =)))

Friday, November 6, 2009

WOOHOO!!!

+It's been so long since I last blogged! Hello everyone, do continue to support this blog! =)))

+So what have I been up to since I came back? Listening to good music of course! There have so many good albums recently and I must really recommend a few. Oh, before I continue, I must annouce to the world that I have moved over to the MAC side!

The new MacBook 13"! With the same(or even better) specs as the MBPro and costing about $500 cheaper, this notebook is a killer deal. So now I'm blogging from my mac and loving it!

+Alright, enough of that, the first album that I highly recommend is 林宥嘉's《感官/世界》.

+I had such a joy listening to this album, although many may find it too hard to swallow. This time, Yoga has stuck to his own music preferences and decides to do an alternative rock album.

+Does it rock?

+You bet it does. Yoga, in a recent interview about his album, said that he prefers this album much more than the previous one When listening to this album, he continued, one's senses would feel stimulated, by the flow of this album. Well, I don't really feel stimulated per se, but the songs in this album really touches you. Polished singing techniques aside, his raw emotions and passion sweep over you like a wave. I particularly love the music arrangement of this album, it's very Coldplay + Sodagreen, if you get what I mean. What joy to listen to, really.

+Here is the 2nd hit from this album “说谎”, take listen and be won over. (There's a reason why this song is the second hit - it's not as alternative as the rest.)

+Is it worth my $19?

With this album, it's make or break for him, as it will certainly test the patience of his fans. For those who like their sugar-rush, they will have no doubt migrated over to 萧雅轩 and her《钻石糖》. LOL. Don't get my wrong I love that album also, just that I like this one more. The packaging of this album is really special too. I have never seen anything like this. The "lyrics book" is made of a few posters folded into "album size" and then put together. The whole stack is then placed inside a Ziploc bag. It's hard to decribe, just go take a look. Hahaha storing this is going to such a pain.

+Recommended Tracks:
Click here to buy now! From YESASIA.com, free international shipping.

+Okay the next album I'm recommending is Taylor Swift's Fearless! Okay I'm slow and everything, but until recently when I revisited her songs did I realize what spellbinding magic they contain!

+Such a sweet, talented and young singer-songwriter! Her songs are very unique, it's like telling a story: no hidden agenda, no lyrics that don't make sense; everything is written and sung honestly.

+Does it rock?

+Country rock, that is. There's a reason why this teenage girl is one of the biggest selling artiste in 2008/09. She's talented, honest, and has a squeaky clean image - something that many artistes her age is lacking. ( Think Miley Cyrus or Vanessa Hudgens.) Her songs are also easy to sing along to, easy on the ears and easy to relate with. These few reasons have garnered her millions of fans! Her voice is strong when it has to be, wispy and lilty in those quiet times. Her songs are really addictive and catchy.

+Here's the controversial award-winning video "You Belong With Me".

+Is it worth my $19?

+Definitely, since the Singapore version only costs $11.90! Buy it with any of the other CDs on promotion and it's 2 for $22. How worth it is it!

+Recommended Tracks: Fearless, Love Story, You Belong With Me, You're Not Sorry, Hey Stephen
Click here to buy now! From amazon.com, shipping costs apply.

WHAT'S NEXT?

+Okay that's all for now, in the meantime, we can all wait for Lady Gaga's new album, The Fame Monster, and Britney's Singles Collection, and also Rihanna's Rated R. In the mandopop scene we can expect Jam Hsiao's collection of female love songs (I'm really looking forward to this.)and 梁文音's 爱一直存在 - both in November, 杨丞琳's 雨爱 and 王心凌's brand new album in December.

+Also look out for my next entry where I decide who is The Real Dancing Diva in the Mandopop scene.

Hold me close; Don't ever let me go

+It's been a long time since I've performed, and I jumped at the chance to perform at my camp's Happy Hour! This time, I only had 2 days notice but what the hell, it's fun! We sang "More Than Words", guitarist's choice, and "Vida La Vida", which, obviously is, my choice. LOL! Guitarist this time is John Tan, from my camp.

+Do watch our performance, comment and rate! Thanks! =)

+Yes, I know I forgot the lyrics and everything, but it's so fun! I really miss performing!

Nobody said it was easy; it's such a shame we had to part

+Alternative Rock!
http://coldplay.com/downloads/wp13_02.jpg
+Coldplay! I've been listening to Coldplay's catalog for the past few days and I really enjoy it! Although some people may find their songs profound, confusing, trashy or draggy. It's not, okay. It's called alternative.

+Actually I'm not even sure why I suddenly started to listen to Coldplay. Perhaps it's because I'm quite sick of all those R&B, pop and club hits that I needed something different, before I die from sugar-rush.

+Some of my favourite tracks so far are The Scientist, Yellow, Violet Hill, Don't Panic, Trouble, Clocks, Fix You, Viva La Vida and many more! When I listen to Coldplay, I'm constantly reminded of how similar the Taiwanese indie band sodagreen sounds like them. Their singing style and music style is really congruent.

+But what I really like about Coldplay is essentially their passion for music, which you can hear in each and every of their compositions. They sing with so much soul and conviction, it's hard not to be won over, like in this clip of "The Scientist" Live. It's good, watch it!

The Scientist

Come up to meet you
Tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are

I had to find you
Tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart

Tell me your secrets
And ask me your questions
Oh let's go back to the start

Running in circles
Coming in tails
Heads are a science apart

Nobody said it was easy
Its such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh take me back to the start

I was just guessing
At numbers and figures
Pulling the puzzles apart

Questions of science
Science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart

Tell me you love me
Come back to haunt me
Oh and I rush to the start

Running in circles
Chasing our tails
Coming back as we are

Nobody said it was easy
Oh its such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard
I'm going back to the start

+And also watch this really cool video of their single "Strawberry Swing"! It's rather new I think.

+Isn't it freaking cool?

It's true. Look how they shine for you.

+I'm determined to keep blogging, even if no one tags at my tagboard, or comment, or if no one comes here at all. LOL. And to show my determination, I've changed the blogskin and made a new banner! Loving the new banner. The headphones are from skullcandy, which is the brand of my headphones, but no, my headphones aren't those! Hahaha! I wouldn't wear those no matter how cool they look!

+Did yall see the new iPod nano? With a video-camera? Damn, and 2 months after I've bought my iPod nano!

+Anyway, we had a mini jamming session in bunk yesterday. I was the singer, John was on the guitar (Daniel's guitar!), and Sam was the drummer. No, we didn't have a drum-set, he was just whacking the pool table. LOL! Anyway, the best song we sang yesterday was Yellow by Coldplay. It's one of my favourite songs of all-time! Maybe I'll video us next time!

Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah, they were all yellow.

I came along,
I wrote a song for you,
And all the things you do,
And it was called "Yellow".

So then I took my turn,
Oh what a thing to have done,
And it was all "Yellow."

Your skin,
Oh yeah your skin and bones,
Turn into something beautiful,
You know, you know I love you so,
You know I love you so.

I swam across,
I jumped across for you,
Oh what a thing to do.
Cos you were all "Yellow".

I drew a line,
I drew a line for you,
Oh what a thing to do,
And it was all "Yellow."

Your skin,
Oh yeah your skin and bones,
Turn into something beautiful,
And you know,
For you I'd bleed myself dry,
For you I'd bleed myself dry.

It's true,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for.

Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine.

Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And all the things that you do

PURE FUN, PURE ADRENALINE, PURE ENJOYMENT.

+200209, 8PM, Singapore Indoor Stadium. Yoga Lin's Concert commenced to a strong crowd of 8000! This time, I bought the premium tickets due to last time's unhigh experience! Hahaha!

+The concert opened with his most mysterious song "眼色". When the concert first started, there was this veil in front of the stage. When Yoga started singing, the veil was still there, with the image of Yoga singing projected on the veil. When the song reached "我會讓你 跌入深不見底的快樂 無法 忘記我的雙眼", there was a bang of pyrotechnics and the veil dropped, revealing Yoga on a platform high on the stage, dressed like one of those 19th century gothic jokers. If you can imagine what I just described, it is actually a very very intense buildup.

+And the lights! The lights! I would do something like that for JJNite if we had the budget! LOL.

+Yoga was pitch perfect the whole night, with his high notes coming out beautiful and powerful, tugging at your heart strings everytime he does it. Although his first few songs were slow ballads, I have to say this: 怎么听慢歌也会这么HIGH??!!! Seriously! His last song for the first segment was "背影" and I was damn happy 'cause that's one of my favourites songs!

+Next came the fast numbers, which was a series of retro hits from 郭富城, 小虎队and草蜢! It was only 20 minutes into the concert and Yoga had us all standing on our feet! WOOHOO! And yes, Yoga's fast songs were just as good as his slow ones.

+Following that was the first guest star for the night, Olivia Ong! She sang really beautifully! Olivia first sang a duet version of "Fly Me To The Moon" with Yoga, followed by her own solo performance of popular TV drama 小娘惹's theme song "如燕". It was filled with FU when she first started, but she got boring really quickly, and I was damn glad when she got off the stage. Beautiful voice but no, I won't pay to watch her for 2 hrs.

+Then Yoga came out again! With a series of songs, some his, some covers, but each was good enough to make us stand and wave along with him. Watching him perform, you wouldn't even believe he's just a newcomer with 1 album only. I have to admit I haven't heard some of the songs he chose, yet I was listening very closely to every song he sang. Some of the songs were so meaningful. I don't know the titles, but when I do, I'll share them here.

+And SHE came on stage! WOOOOHHOOOOO!!!

+The trio girl band performed 4 songs!! They were on stage for a full 30minutes! Really worth my ticket price lah! haha! They sang "宇宙小姐", "我爱烦恼", "沿海公路的出口" and "612星球"! They were really funny and said they were here to 抢歌迷! LOL. Then they asked," 你们觉得我们是不是SUPERSTAR啊?" Which led to the superhigh song, you guessed it, "SUPERSTAR". It appeared to be a duet with Yoga but it turned out rather disastrous as both parties didn't seem to have rehearsed before hand. But SHE, being the seasoned singers around, turned the awkard situation around by doing sultry dance moves with(on?) Yoga! Hahaha! In my opinion, Selina looked the best, Hebe sang the best, and Ella was the most hilarious!

+Then Yoga took over the stage again and treated the audience to a medley of jazzy and broadway-like songs. Again, I didn't know some of the songs, but still, I was listening very closely and enjoying the whole coolness and feel of the atmosphere. Until some fans decided to lead the audience in rhythmic clapping! Like WTH! Rhythmic clapping in jazzy songs! The whole ambience was spoiled by them! GRRR.

+And to our disappointment, Yoga said the concert was coming to an end soon. I was like, WHAT?!! Then we checked our watched and it was already 10plus! OMG! We didn't even realize that!! And truly, after 2 or 3 more songs, the concert "ended" with a mass karaoke of "我爱的人". God, it was so touching.

+Of course, we wanted more! So after rhythmic chants of "林宥嘉! 林宥嘉! 林宥嘉!", he came back on stage for an encore performance! After 2 or 3 soulful performances, he left and we demanded more once again! And, for the 2nd and last encore performances, we were treated to a lot, and I mean a lot, of rock songs, both english and chinese! Seriously, the ending of the concert was like a Mayday concert lah! And, he knew his concert was overrunning like crazy, so he said,"其实这段Encore是不勉强的. 如果你们想离开, 我不会怎样的." But who would leave??!! Even those who left after the first encore stopped in their tracks to rock to the final segment.

+Then he went down again! By then it was already close to midnight! The stadium thought he would come back again but he didn't! Reason being he didn't sing "伯乐", "那首歌" and "你是我的眼"! Many fans didn't leave but when the lights came on and the band started packing up, we knew it was over for good. Some fans even started singing "伯乐" in their small groups! But seriously, I found it a real pity as well.

+Oh, did I mention he sang a lot of English songs! Yes! And they were WAAAAYYY better then Jolin's english songs. LOL.

+On a side note, we spotted many celebrities and DJs! They were: 洪乙心, 鹤天赐(Nat Ho), 张耀栋, 陈靓萱(Felicia Chin! God we didn't have a camera!), 李腾, 郭亮, 黄慧, 巫许玛丽, 谢家发, 周重庆, 林俊欣, 冯慧诗 and 大风吹's 主唱! I can't remember his name! LOL.

+In conclusion, a great concert, those who like him will like him even more, and those who don't will be involuntarily be won over.

Heart Beat

Erm, excuse me Jay Chou. LEE HOM'S BACK.

+Just when we were all wondering what this guy's been up to, he springs back to the A-list once again with his brand new album, HEART BEAT心跳. And. That. Cover. Isn't it super cool? (I have those sunnies too! LOL.)

+This guy is truly a genius. While listening, you think to yourself, "Wow, the music arrangement is amazing! I like the feel of the whole album! I like how the piano and guitar and strings weave together seamlessly! I love the drum beats! I adore the lyrics of the song!" So you check the book for its credits. And guess what? Lee Hom is the lyricist, composer, producer, music arranger, pianist, guitarist (yes, both acoustic and electric), drummer and recording engineer! The only thing he doesn't do is mixing. If we didn't know any better, we would think SONY-BMG was low on budget or something. He really deserves the title MUSIC MAN.

+The genre is wide as well, ranging from the techno-rock of 爱得 得体to heart-wrenching rock ballad 心跳, to the funky bad-ass 我完全没有任何理由理你, a duet 另一个天堂, R&B 竞争对手to chinked-out 摇滚怎么了!!. In this song, the amount of "Chinese-element" added is just right, without sounding too over and deliberated, unlike the superfluous There are also many more ballads in the album worth listening.

+Okay, we can't really compare him and Jay Chou, because these 2 singers have their own unique style. It's like when you hear an unknown song for the first time on the radio and by the first few seconds, you will go, "Hey, that's a Jay song." or "Hey, that's a Lee Hom song.". Their individual style is that unique. Overall, Lee Hom's style is a more mature one, while Jay's song is really more bubblegum.

+So here's the low-down. In this album, Lee Hom is how we all liked him: cool, floppy haired, bad-ass and sophisticated; not the short hair, all-against-globalwarming preacher in the last album - which flopped. So, yes Lee Hom, we liked Heart Beat, so stop producing crap like 改变自己and just 做回自己.

+Overall: 4/5. Half a star for the freebies.

+I heard this song on the radio a few days ago and was very very touched by this song. This song reminds us of all the good times and memories that we've enjoyed in school. Sometimes, you are so busy that you can't tell the difference between day and night. It's during times like this that you want to slow down, take a breath and think. What is all this for? Things have changed a lot since graduation, and occasionally, you wonder why the real world is like that.

Why can't it be like school?

+Hope you guys share the same feeling. And to think such an amazing song was written and performed by Singaporeans. Too bad I can't find find this song on imeem.com. But you guys can listen to it HERE though.
